ABOUT US
The purpose of the New York State Foundations of Education Association is:
1. To promote the academic study and publication of foundational knowledge derived from such areas as the social, philosophical, psychological, and historical study of education, including analytical and interpretive approaches appropriate for systematic and sustained inquiry into curriculum theory, economics of education, sociology of education, anthropology of education, politics of education, comparative education, policy studies, philosophy of education, history of education, learning theory, professional ethics, public policy, urban and multicultural education, and school law.
2. To increase the integration of the disciplines associated with foundational knowledge and their related disciplines by encouraging more frequent professional contacts and collaboration between foundational scholars and those from other disciplines who have an interest in the field of education.
3. To promote the improvement of teaching and research in the disciplines related to the social foundations of education.
